Recycling Services

Recycling of mercury containing lamps is mandated in several states. Where it is not mandated we strongly recommend that retrofit and relamping operations be accompanied by recycling. We have contacts with major recycling companies who are competitive and will pickup the spent lamps at your locations. For the smaller operations our sources also have prepaid box programs. In these cases an operation buys a few four foot boxes or a barrel and gradually fills them up. Once filled the box is sent by a carrier to a licensed facility.

Mercury containing lamps include all Fluorescent, Compact Fluorescent, Metal halide, and most High Pressure Sodium Lamps. All of the New England States including New York, Minnesota, California, most of Florida require spent lamps be recycled. Check the website www.lamprecycling.org for information on your state.
